Margaret Russell is a South Australian based Glass Artist specialising in warm glass. After much soul searching she has settled by the sea with her studio now at Pt Elliot. Her work is influenced by the coastal lifestyle. To own and view a piece of her work allows you to reflect upon the beauty and colour of the sea, sand and coast.
I began working with glass in 2000, under the tutelage of Rachel Merritt glass artist and teacher. Having utilised Rachel’s studio space for a few years, I then established my own home-based studio in 2004. This allowed me to pursue my interest in fusing, slumping cast glass and bead making.
Studies in the Bachelor of Visual Arts at Uni SA as well as many courses locally and interstate have enhanced my understanding of glass techniques.
